Natural world portrayed in shows?

In many movies and animations, especially historical movies and animes, in the background there is always lush green forest and uninhabited plains. Are there really places like that where one can enjoy nature without the scent or sight of nearby smog? There's no question about antarctica, africa, australia, NA(reserves, which are still kinda ugly IMO just cuz of the type of environment), and SA. I'm asking about asia and europe, but mostly asia. i remember in a show there was a small shrine and waterfall in the background and just peaceful forest around it. it's kinda sad today that these places are actually rare to find. jesus, stop overpopulating the world when you know it's running outta resources!

In old movies you can tell that the backgrouond is just a picture.  But today, all the backgrounds are real. :)
