  1. Passport is the only document you need - US citizens do not need a visa for a short trip to the UK.

  2. the answers you've been given are generally true, but check out travel.state.gov and look up the Country Specific information  for the UK including visa requirements. The prompt for Country Specific information is on the bottom left in the blue column. Then look up the passport section and that will tell you everything you need to know about passports.

  3. a) Passport and a return ticket (if you do not, prepare to explain why you do not have one to immigration). If you are a minor you may not be able to travel outside the USA without parental consent (check with a travel agency for more details)

    b) A passport is world wide recognisable ID which identifies you as a citizen of a certain country. You do not need a visa if you are staying within 6 months and you are only there as a tourist.

    c) Passport Office, (forms are usually available at the post office) or you can download the forms.

    i) The charges vary depending whether or not you are a child or an adult or if you are just after a passport card or a passport

    Passport Book (Age 16 & Older)  $100

Passport Book (Under Age 16) $85

    Passport Card (Age 16 & Older) $45

    Passport Card (Under Age 16) $35 http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/fee...

ii) The US currently takes about 8 - 12 weeks for processing for a passport however there is an expediated fee which takes 1 - 2 weeks.

    d) Links provided to those above whenever available.

  4. Once naturalized, a citizen is a citizen and requirements are exactly the same!  Read the state department's website on obtaining a US passport.  Then check the UK website on visas (American tourists do not a visa to the UK, but need to prove round-trip or onward plane tickets/transportation, and sufficient funds for the typical "tourist" stuff -- hotel reservations, restaurant meals, sightseeing, etc.

I've given you some tips and shortcuts, but you need to learn to do your own homework!
