Naturally occuring polymers and their replacements?

I need examples of naturally occuring polymers and their synthetic replacements (specific)

See answer above.  And cotton = cellulose.  Replaced by polyester, although we obviously still use cotton.

Natural rubbers are either polyisoprene or similar compounds, which have been replaced with synthetic rubber.

That's the best example I can think of.  Sorry... it's late and I can't think of any more.
