  1. Your question is very vague, but in general:

There are various classes of restaurants from fast food places like McDonalds (both chain and independent) to neighborhood diners which serve basic meals at reasonable prices to upscale locations that cater to a business or more successful crowd on a regular basis (again either chain or independent) to special high class restaurants that are very expensive and are either for special occasions or the very well to do. In addition there are catering businesses which will bring the food to your location and either serve it or just deliver it. There are also banquet facilities that serve a meal for a given group by special arrangement, they usually charge a premium for this service, which is also done by hotels.

Any business can be a sole owner, or some partners or a corporation. Usually they are corporations to limit the liability of the owners in case something happens to the business.

    I hope that helps.
