Naughty Dog gives players more Uncharted 3 beta, rewards remain despite loss of data
Naughty Dog, the developer behind one of the gaming world’s most critically acclaimed franchises, have announced that they have extended the span of the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta.
The beta which impressively crossed the one million participant mark, after it was made open to the public, went down very well with the majority of the players. The beta also earned rave reviews from critics who all seemed to agree that the Uncharted 3
multiplayer was shaping up to be better than the one in its predecessor, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
However, that is not to say that the beta went without a hitch, as many of the participants’ stats seem to have been lost and their progress reset back to ‘Level 1’. The beta allowed players to reach ‘Level 25’ with the progress carried over the full release
of the game along with the numerous awards which came with the promotion of levels in the beta.
Naughty Dog did have some good news to share, as they announced that the statistics were not completely lost and that players could check them online at the Naughty Dog website.
“We're glad to let you know that you can now view a LIMITED set of BASIC player profile stats and a summary of your game history, right here on NaughtyDog.com,” a statement on the website read.
Also Naughty Dog confirmed that player progress was still intact and that they would be getting the rewards despite the reset in their accounts on the beta and invited gamers to check their progress, again on their official website.
“We wanted to be sure that everyone who is looking forward to the Uncharted 3 Beta rewards have an opportunity to check up on their progress.” Before continuing, “The Uncharted 3 Beta stats allows you to check your level and go through your game history
to figure out how many games of each game type you've played.”
While it may be a bit of an inconvenience for players to keep checking their actual progress online, rather than on their consoles at the end of every game, one has to commend the game’s developer for the speed in which they responded.
The beta is absolutely free for players to download and play and Naughty Dog are using it as a platform to test out any bugs the mode may have. It seems they have found quite a few with the beta currently in its fourth version (v1.04).
Naughty Dog also left everyone with a list of how the stats which they have been able to recover and share with players, “We've thrown in a few more, basic, profile stats like kills, deaths, headshots, wins, losses and the time you've spent playing either
competitive game types or cooperative game types.”
The beta ends at 9:00pm PDT on the 15th of July and the full release of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is scheduled for the 1st of November 2011. Till then players have less than 24 hours to get their hands on as much Uncharted 3 action
as they can.
