Navel Piercing Help? [pic]?

Question

I just got my navel pierced today.

It didn't hurt/sting at all afterward until this evening when I changed my shirt for the night. I accidentally rubbed my shirt against the piercing and it hurt, pretty badly.

Does it look swollen to you? It's a little bit redder than the picture shows. I was told not to clean it tonight because they already did before I left, but will it get infected if the microfibers from my shirt get into my piercing?

Any suggestions would be great.

It looks fine. Try to be more careful (i'm sure you will after this anyway).

As for cleaning it, don't use bactine. It says right on the bottle that it's not made for puncture wounds. And go ahead and clean it. I've never seen a piercer clean the piercing right after doing it, anyway. That just sounds strange. I mean, they prep the area and they wipe it off after, but they don't clean it for you. Feel free to start your sea salt soaks as soon as you like. Hopefully you got good aftercare instructions.

I just got one too!

Mine got swollen a few hours after getting it done

My piercer reccommended to keepit cleanwith dial soap and wash it 2 or 3 times a day. It's find now andits been two weeks since I got it done

Get some Bactine. You can buy it at Walgreens, CVS etc and apply it 2-3 times a day. They have a spray bottle which makes it easy to apply.

Try not to touch the piercing if you don't have to. When you shower, use an antibacterial soap such as Dial to clean the pierced area.

I have had a pieced belly for 6 years and all these things have worked for me.

yeah its red but that's normal but when you take shower just let the water and soap hit it

it looks alright, the area will swell a little with a fresh piercing, so I wouldn't be concerned about that yet. Just keep an eye on it, and keep it clean
