I got my bellybutton pierced for the second time about a week ago. Before this I had gotten my bellybutton pierced when I was 14 (I'm 20 now) and it got a nasty bump around the top hole and just would never heal. Eventually I took it out. I just got it redone about a week ago and its red around the top hole, itchy, and I'm afraid I'm going to get that nasty bump again that kinda looked like a keloid. Piercer has me soaking with sea salt solution twice a day. My question is: durng healing is th redness around the top hole normal?

  1. use tea tree oil to get rid of the keloid if it comesback. the redness is normal but it's because you probably touch it or pick at it. resist the temptation and leave it alone, just clean it when you have to!

  2. Yes, the redness is totally normal!! Just give it time to heel. The itching is normal too!! Good Luck!!

  3. yes, mine was red around the top hole for awhile. just make sure you keep it cleanh

  4. You were just stabbed with a needle, expect redness and tenderness.  Itching usually means it's healing.  Kind of like when you were a kid and you'd fall and scrape your knee.  After it started to scab it'd itch, which was a sign that it was healing.

As long as you're not oozing discolored puss, then you don't have anything to worry about.

  5. go see ur Doc! it sounds like an infection
