ive had my belly button pierced for a year and a half and from the start there was only a small amount of skin pierced. it never hurts or looks red and ive changed it a bunch of times and its always fine but im wondering if it is rejecting or growing out, theres only about 1mm of skin pierced but it has always been like that so what do you think ? leave it in since it doesnt look like its getting any thinner ?

  1. if you can see the bar through your skin, it is rejecting and you should definitely take it out to avoid chances of it tearing out.

  2. Rejecting is when your piercing slowly fights against your skin to push itself out. Migration is the symptom of rejecting. It's when if the jewelry is not removed, it slowly brings your jewelry closer and closer to your skin, actually causing it to push it's way entirely through your skin.

    Symptoms of migration:

    Constant soreness and sensitivity

The skin over the jewelry is actually thin enough to see the jewelry through it.

The jewelry hangs loosely. More different then it used to.

The hole around the piercing is larger.

If you have any of these symptoms, take your jewelry out!

    Hope I helped!
