I don't know which one to pick, but I know I want to be a medic in the military? Which one would you choose and why? Also, my parents say I was always a "water baby" because I love the water, but still which one would you choose

  1. army, definitly. it was always my dream to join the army.

"Be All That You Can Be"

  2. Go Navy!

  3. take a look at the typical life of a service member in the different branches medic or not, and go from there, also be aware that if you are a Navy Corpsman there is a good chance you will be with marines on the ground not on a ship.

  4. My goodness if you want to become lazy and tell Marines they arent really hurt for 4 years( muliple "DR's" and corpman") and then let a civilian doctor find Major orthopedic problems right before they get out and travel a lot then go navy. If you want to live a good life in a college type environment go Air Force. Those are the only two I know anything about. Thanks corpmans for the $1000 a month I get from the VA because 80% of the ones I came across in 8 years were idiots!!!!  As a Marine I respected maybe 5 corpman. I think the other branches maybe beable to top tat average.

  5. Army Medics get more "action" (the men especially). I personally am DEP Air Force Medic and this what the right choice for me because both my father and step father are Air Force and I like how the Air Force treats there people.

Do a lot of research before you beside. You need to find what is right for YOU.

  6. As far as the training and experience in really world situations. I would consider joining as a Navy Corpsman attached to the Marines. Not only will you be proud of the Navy but you will always be a Brother to the Corps.

If it wasnt for my Doc I wouldnt be alive today!!

    Navy/Marine Corps Team

  7. Well i have worked along side Army and Air Force Medics when i was in. And they are both good but i like being a Corpsman since you can go on ship, in a sub, with the airwing or best yet with the Marines. Corpsman seem to be more well rounded with knowledge unless your a Special Force medic. They have all have pros and cons but good luck

  8. I was a Navy Corpsman...

I would say that the Navy is best. All Navy Corpsmen start out with basic Hospital Corps school then we train for other specialties. Like X ray, Pharmacy, Lab, Bio-Med Repair, and others. I was a Preventive Medicine Technician.

No matter what you will be a Corpsman first. Other branches start with their specialties.

But on a ship everyone has to have basic medical skills. I liked my time in the Navy. You can go on ships, go with Sea Bees, go with Marines, or stay at a hospital. There are many options for Navy Corpsmen. It is one of the best rates in the Navy. I would say it is the best rate in the Navy...

If you like water there is also Rescue swimmer and search and rescue both Navy. You definitely will be around water.

If not the Navy consider the Coast Guard. They are pretty cool too and they are around the water.

You have a lot of choices with the Navy. True a lot of Corpsmen go with the Marines, but there you don't always have to. I never went FMF. (but , when I first joined it was very hard for women to get those types of assignments. It is changing and more women HMs get to go with the Marines. I wanted to but they weren't taking females at the time I tried to get orders.)
