Navy Moment of Truth Question, PLEASE HELP! ?

So I've already been to MEPS and signed up, but I'm a DEPer right now until Sept. 10th, 2008. I know that there will be a moment of truth at MEPS again or at Boot Camp. Anyways, this is what happened. My recruiter got my medical records, but he only sent the one about my emergency room dog bite, he didn't send the one about my Dermatitis, or the one about this boil I had once and I wasn't sure what it was so I went to the emergency room. So my head recruiter called me as I was on my way to MEPS and said that I couldn't tell MEPS about my dermatitis or boil because they didn't have those medical records. He said that if I told them and they called him up to ask about the medical records that he would say I never told him about them. So I was majorly stressed out and I didn't tell them about either of the situations. Now what I want to know is, is a boil and dermatitis that only breaks out when I were cheap metal an issue I should tell them at the Moment of Truth? Or what should I do? I'm really scared and stressed out about this and I don't know what to do.

  1. naw you good just stay with the story you first told im currently in the dep to for navy and went through some similar situataion  ur be okay and stop stressing urself   good luck with bootcamp !!

  2. You are losing sleep over nothing.  Either decision you make will be alright but realize that if you don't disclose it you need to keep the history to yourself.  Personally, I would not worry about it and focus on getting ready and performing well in boot camp.

  3. Recruiters care about one thing, meeting that quota. They will withhold information (learned that first-hand), they will tell you anything they want to hear, and the fact that a recruiter will claim that you never told him about a medical condition that HE withheld is wrong.

Now, you could do a couple of things. Bring up the medical condition AND the statements from the recruiter at MEPS, but it would invite you to possible delays and possible bad feelings with the recruiters. The MEPS and recruiters talk all of the time, so, if you badmouth a recruiter, it will get back to him, then to boot camp.

You other choice, and the better choice, is to just stay quiet. This conversation never happened. As the penguin said in Madagascar, "You didn't see a thing."

Boils and dermatitis are nothing if it's been over for quite a while. If they ask, you forgot about it.

    Good luck

  4. You know, I really don't think this is something to stress out about. Honestly, don't change your story at the moment of truth. Talk to your recruiter now. Don't wait till you ship. You are going to be a lot more emotional and scared. See if you can contact your insurance company and get the records for the boil and dermatitis. I think the number one thing is to be honest with your recruiter that you are scared about not telling MEPS about the boil.

I think there is a fine line between being honest about a medical condition and just being dramatic.
