Navy Officer Career Question:

With a business degree, I technically only am able to serve as an aviation maintenance officer or supply officer. With my ASVAB at 94 and all my lines scores being 121 and above, will that make me eligible for intel or crypto? I'm 31, so I cannot get an age waiver for supply and the AMDO doesn't really appeal to me. So the question is, will my scores in school and ASVAB allow me to choose another officer field?

  1. I would suggest that you enlist, would be my best bet with you. And if you have any college credits than better, you can go in as E-2, or E-3 to boot camp and get a bigger bonus for intel/ct field/aecf. You're not eligible for NUKE because of the cut off age.

Listen go to http://www.mynavyonline.com, those are retired, active sailors and parents who know a lot more than any of these Yahooians. They can give you real blunt straight forward answers, and if you need any details or help they will give them to you. I'm KJC88 there.

    Good luc.

  2. the Officer community doesn't use the ASVAB.

if you do not have a BS, your chances for IWO  and INTEL are slim unless your GPA is close to 4.0 and you have at least one semester of Calculus under your belt.  and preferably  more than one.

Also what else do you bring to the table?  Experience? leadership roles? community involvement?  Physical fitness? GPA, Degree and ASTB are not the only factors .  the Navy wants well rounded individuals
