So I was looking at the Navy ROTC website and saw the job opportunities and didn't see Navy Intelligence officer listed. I am really interested in naval intelligence but would prefer ROTC to an academy so is it possible for an NROTC graduate to become a Naval intelligence officer? Thanks for the help

  1. NROTC and the Academies produce LINE officers only.. SWO, Aviation, Spec ops.  you can only go Restricted Line/Staff( INTEL, IWO, Supply) from these two sources if you are found Not Physically Qualified for URL.

Intel is not an option via ROTC.

  2. Whether you are currently enlisted or looking to become an officer right out of the gate, you must first get a Bachelor's Degree. This means you can't just take an NROTC class and magically become an officer, intelligence or not.

Intel is an option and is a lot of fun, but you need that BA or BS before you can get your commission.

  3. I see you want to be a "spook" but yes it is possible if you can do the required training for the intelligence officer
