  1. To be honest with you, as long as you graduate college you qualify for the FBI. However, you need to pass a rigorous background check for a top secret security clearance, this background investigation is no joke. They will poke and prod into every aspect of your life.  So, if have done any major drugs or been arrested for any major crimes, do not apply. They polygraph you and will find the truth. If you have, be honest, that is your best bet. You have a better chance of staying in the military in one of those cases. If not, SEALS or master at arms wont really matter, the military experience combined with a degree always looks good.

You usually cannot apply into the Navy as a SEAL, despite what a recruiter says. You cannot, I repeat, cannot go from boot camp to SEAL school, I have never heard of any other case happening. You have to have another job first and apply to be a SEAL and make it through their rigorous school. So, you can go in as a Master at Arms and apply to be a SEAL after you are in for a little bit. Either way you can always go to college and just apply to the FBI without being military. The worst they can say is no. The best idea is to apply for more than one agency, don't be stuck on the FBI. There is always the DEA, CIA, Homeland Security, etc... etc... etc...

  2. Depends on the career you want. If you stay in the military, there are many law enforcement options, such as Army CID for example. All branches have a criminal investigation division that I personally consider as good as the FBI. The Navy SEALS could be a good way to enhance your military career. They have their own intelligence gathering unit(s) that would help you get the experience as an investigator. I would talk to the FBI and your NCIS where you are stationed If you do go talk to the FBI they will probably recommend that you get more college. Contrary to the popular belief that the FBI does a lot of shoot-em-up-bang-bang, they investigate more white collar crime like fraud, embezzlement, forgery, etc. If you want shoot-em-up-bang-bang-oops!-I-just-castr... then go SEALs. Actually, I have a lot of respect for the SEALs, I just like to jab at them at times.

  3. MA is a good rate and a solid footstep into LEO.

Seals; well hundreds attempt it and few make it.

Why not just do 20 years as a MA? Get a pension!
