Nay Bala Myint leads the Singha Teddy Auto Sale Championship of the Thai PGA Tour
The four day event of the Thai Professional Golfer’s Association Tour Singha Teddy Auto Sale Championship teed off yesterday at the scenic par-71 Lamlukka Golf and Country Club in Bangkok.
The youngster Nay Bala Win Myint of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Myanmar-c2963 is the front runner on the first day carding a round of nine-under par 62 to lead the championship by a mere margin of just one stroke. He is followed up by the local lad Piya Swangarunporn with a score of eight-under
par 63. The total prize money sanctioned for the event is 2-million-bhat.
The leader from Myanmar played exceedingly well during his first round and there was no blemish seen on his card. It was clearly seen by his crisp iron shots that Myint was in spectacular touch with his irons and was reading the line well on the greens.
The 20-year-old had nine birdies on his bogey-free card and now leads the championship. Myint was very pleased with his first round and is confident to continue his excellent form throughout the next four rounds.
The local hero, Swangarunporn, as expected had a round of eight-under par 63 and was in great momentum with his swing. The driving accuracy was seen during his play and was in complete hold of his approach shots as he made eight birdies during his round.
The Thai had only three birdies on the first nine but made another five birdies to post his name on the leader board. It is anticipated by his fans that he will continue to dominate until the final on Sunday to lift the trophy and the winner’s purse.
There was a two-way tie for the third spot, as Prom Meesawat and Chapchai Nirat are also Asian Tour members and have loads of experience on their shoulders. They carded a round of seven-under par respectively and showed their class on the field against their
opponents. Meesawat had nine birdies on his card with only two consecutive bogeys on holes number 12 and 13 where he had two drop shots. Nirat was flawless in his round and had seven birdies. He was in complete control with his hot putter and is expected to
continue his brilliance in the next three days. Both these players will be the hopefuls on the field to win the championship.
The highlight of the tournament was the inexperienced player Aleem-ur-Rahman, who is representing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pakistan-c755. The youngster who is just 21-years-old and playing his first Thai PGA tour, carded a brilliant round four-under par 67 which included four birdies
and an superb eagle on the short par-4, 6th where his approach shot directly landed in the hole. He was overwhelmed with his round and was confident that he will improve his play in the next three days. Aleem is just five shots behind the leader
and is hoping to take on the challenge of his competitors.
Some fireworks are expected from both the experienced and inexperienced players present on the field in the second round and the course conditions are suitable for the Asian players.
