Ndamukong Suh to face suspension for stomp in Packers game – NFL News
Detroit Lions burly defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will likely face suspension for at least two games and subsequent fines according to sources close to the National Football League disciplinary commission.
Suh who has a history of suspensions and fines for dangerous play is under hot water again after his latest moment of madness. The defensive tackle completely lost the plot early in the third quarter during Detroit Lions Thanksgiving
Day encounter against unbeaten Green Bay Packers.
The NFL will deliberate on his actions today with the final decision to be made the next day on the scope of punishment which will include a suspension and may even mandate the 24 year old to attend anger management classes.
Suh’s actions have been panned across the media and the NFL with his own team refusing to support his actions. His teammates are also furious with his inability to control his emotions with his ejection the major reason for Detroit
losing their eighth straight Thanksgiving Day game.
In addition to fines by the NFL, Detroit Lions are also expected to give Suh a $ 25,000 penalty for his actions.
Green Bay Packers were leading the game 7-0 at the start of the third when a frustrated Ndamukong Suh started fighting on the ground with Packers Guard Evan Dietrich-Smith. Suh got up to his feet and replays showed that he deliberately
aimed a kick to Smith’s arm. Officials promptly ejected a furious Suh from the field of play. The ejection was a major turning point in the game as Packers tightened the noose around Detroit to win their eleventh straight game 27-15 and continue their quest
for an unbeaten season.
The 307 pounds defensive tackle apologised for his actions after releasing a statement on his Facebook account saying
"My reaction on Thursday was unacceptable," Suh said on Friday. "I made a mistake, and have learned from it. I hope to direct the focus back to the task at hand -- by winning."
It remains to be seen whether this current punishment will result in Suh controlling his emotions as past fines have had little effect on the defensive tackle.
Detroit Lions are currently joint second in the National Football Conference North Division with Chicago Bears with a 7-4 record.
