  1. The nearest Loch to Lancaster is Castle Loch at Lochmaben.

The nearest Loch to Lancaster on which pleasure boats are allowed is the Loch of the Lowes alongside the A708 between Moffat and Selkirk.

  2. Some lochs are public and others are private.  (Wouldn't it be great to have your own private loch?!?)  Most wee shops on the road to the lochs sell licenses (if you need them) but you may find these sites helpful: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_loc... and http://www.waterscape.com.  (Do a search for Carlisle and you will get all the information you need on lochs in the south of Scotland!)

    Happy Sailing!

  3. Loch Ken in Dumfries

St Mary's Loch in the Borders

    Meggat reservoir in the Borders

There's a few in Ayrshire too.

Check this site out... but as for contact details... just do a google search!

  4. Try your nearest travel agent, or contact  the Scottish travel information office on line. That is always the best and quickest way to get information.
