You have to be wrong! The Governor of ca. said that all 8th. graders should have mastered algebra. makes me wonder thou , my grandson wasn't even taught how to tell time with the little hand and the big hand and he passed 2nd gr.================================== ADDED Your right he knows what a condom is and he knows what crack is!! just most of his friends can not tell time without a digital clock or watch!!!

The standard of education is poor in the USA compared to other Western countries.

Leftist teachers union controlled education system. The kids are well versed on drugs and condom use. But not so much when it comes to conventional education.

I think that may be exaggerated. Americans are not ALL dumb warmongering lunatics. Certain parts of the country have lower standards of education than do others. It's a pity, but most of those places are in the Southeast. This also, is nothing new.
