Nebraska Cornhuskers’ Niles Paul out for week 13
Nebraska Cornhuskers wide receiver and kickoff return man Niles Paul has been ruled out for the Club’s week 13 game against the Colorado Buffaloes on Friday 26 November.
On Wednesday, Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini reported that Paul injured his foot during practice on Tuesday and will be out for the club's game against the Buffaloes. The coach also mentioned that Paul’s
status for the rest of the season is uncertain.
The Cornhusker could have up to three games remaining in this year’s campaign. If the club is able to defeat Colorado they will win the Big 12 North and be entered into the Big 12 championship game. Moreover,
the Cornhuskers are also bowl eligible and will certainly be in a high-profile bowl match-up.
Nebraska’s week 12, 9-6 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies, made their week 13 match-up with the Buffaloes a must win in order to clinch the Big 12 North.
The Buffaloes have suffered through an up-and-down season, which saw their head coach fired and several injuries at quarterback. Colorado started the year off with a 3-1 record, but quickly fell into a
downward spiral, losing their next five games. Nevertheless, the club has turned it around over the past two weeks, winning difficult conference games against the Iowa State Cyclones and the Kansas State Wildcats.
The Cornhuskers will have to put together a more impressive offensive performance than their six-point week 12 debacle when they face Colorado. Moreover, they will have to do it without their third wide
receiver and most dynamic specials teams player. The Cornhuskers will certainly be relying more heavily on the countries seventh ranked running game, as they move further away from an extremely poor 106th ranked passing game.
So far this season Paul has managed 39 receptions for 516 yards and one touchdown, while compiling 403 kick return yards.
