Necchi bu black sewing machine will not start when...

Question

This machine is black, has good housekeeping seal on right front , "Necchi BU, serie Nova made in Italy" on metal tag under the good housekeeping seal. I've never used it...,was my mother's....in a beautiful cherry cabinet...looks in perfect order, but will not start. Can I find an owner's manual for this machine, and approximate age as I am selling it. Thank you for any assistance you can give....Jean Baxter [e-mail]
