Puerto Aventuras is a housing and vacation development south of Cancun.  It was promoted around a Marina.  The development did not work, but there are still several hotels and condos in the area.  The beach is nice like all in the area.

You can find info and photos in the attached links.  To get there you can fly to Cancun or Cozumel and drive there.  Hotels typically include transportation and are all-inclusive because of its remote location.
