A couple of months ago suddenly out of the blue my neck became extremely stiff and pain full when turning my head to the right, turning to the left was fine.. it lasted a few days.. gradually got better and then went.. this afternoon out of the blue once again.. it came back.

Is there anything i can do to help get it better/make it better?

Any ideas what it could be?

Thank you

  1. Yeah see a "Chiropractor", he specialises in backs and necks they are wonderful I'm sure the will sort you out I can almost guarantee them.

  2. do you do a job that involves sitting in one position all day - like computer work? it could be bad posture wihcih can ultimately cause

the discs at the top of the spine to compress.. if its minor try a bag of cold peas on it. don't go to the gym.

go to the doctor before you go to a chirpractor you need a proper

prognosis and may find physio is better.

if you do sit all day ask your hr department to get you an assessment

of your work station - you may have wrong chair - computer at wrong hieght etc.please don't leave it - mine started like this - affected my shoulder arm and hand - now off work for 3 months having had

    an arthoscocopy on my shoulder

  3. have a long shower with strong shower head.

find a local therapist to get some massage session

or simpler relaxation by wearing the health sandals

  4. I get this same problem from time to time. It happens to me because I'm on the computer almost all day and keep my right hand on the mouse most of the time. This causes tension in the shoulder and neck on that side.

When it happens to me I usually massage my shoulder by grabbing the meaty part of the shoulder muscle with the opposite hand and squeezing and releasing it slowly. Then I massage up my neck.

You can apply heat to the area. Try soaking in a hot bath or wrapping a damp, warm towel around you neck. That will relieve some of the discomfort.

It will take time to get better. Doing these things won't make it go away tomorrow, but it should speed up the healing process a little and relieve your pain.

  5. I would try a chiropractor. My sister in Seattle had migraines and chronic neck pain and she sees Dr Walia. His website is http://www.drjaswalia.com Maybe you could email him with some questions or just get a better idea of what they can do for you. Good luck, I hope this helps!
