can someone please help me figure out a math problem and explain it to me in a way i can understand. the problem is this: Janice and mary have $65 total to spend on a gift for their mother. Mary has $7 more than Janice does. How much money does each have? Thank You

    65.00 / 2 = 32.50
    ok so Janice has $32.50
    then Mary has 7.00 more dollors so
    32.50 + 7.00 = 39.50
    so Mary has 39.50


  2. O.K. first of all you divide $65.00 divided by 2 which equals $32.05. Then you add $7.00 to just one of the parts so $32.05 plus $7.00 equals $39.05. Then the answer would be
    Mary: $32.05
    Janice: $39.05
