My Guinea Pig's teeth seem to be really long and I know that Guinea Pig teeth never stop growing. What can I do or give him to help grind them down? I'm worried they'll grow so long it's uncomfortable for him!

  1. First of all, does your piggy have Timothy hay? Because really most Guinea Pigs don't need anything to chew on if they have unlimited amounts of hay at all times. But you will want to give your pig some chew blocks, but most guinea pigs do enjoy the fruit branch chews the best, even though they aren't as colorful they taste better to your pig most of the time. And if they are that long that they are concerning you, you will want to take your guinea pig to a cavy savvy vet, that know guinea pigs and their actual needs, like most vets don't. That vet will most likely help you take care of his teeth by trimming them, but a groomer will not do that. Well, I think that's about it. I wish you the best of luck for you and your pig!

  2. Anything crunchy like carrots will work to help grind down their teeth. I also thinkg you can get them trimmed by a groomer!!

  3. I use the cardboard part of empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls, and my guinea pigs love to chew on them.

  4. you can get wood blocks and stuff like that, that's used to grind down long rodent teeth.

  5. be careful with the cardboard tp rolls they do love thim but to many can clog there tummies my hampster died from it : (

  6. No do not get them trimmed the only possible thing to do is to buy her chew toys! Wood chew toys are made for helping teeth stay short it will grind them down! Also it's a lot of fun for your piggy!

  7. try a salt rock, or a woodent house thing, anything really to chew on the is safe, but they are going to be long but your doing good but worryin about him! :)
