Why couldn't the enzyme in a large number produce the product? Thx..

  1. yes the substrate concentration is the key factor. when enzyme is present in excess the substrate should be present in large amount in order get good production otherwise its a waste of enzyme


  2. When the number of enzymes becomes more, the substrate will become the limitating factor

    3. what conditions?

    it was probably unable because the the temperature was too low for a successful reaction, or too high and the enzyme got denatured. the pH could be above/below the optimum for the enzyme, so it got denatured as well. another thing, it could have been inhibited (poisoned) by another substance and cannot function.
