Need HELP with connection to xbox LIVE!!!

When I update my xbox on 8/06 and also my COD 4, somehow then I can't connect to xbox live. I test my connection and everything is good. I don't know if it's the update that I can't connect to it or something. It just says that I can't connect to xbox live like if my connection were bad or something. I really need help! I even unplug everything and then plug it back in but still nothing work. I really need someone to tell me how to solve this problem! Thx! anything will help and I will try it.
