  1. Moles CO2 = moles C = 2.641 g / 44.0098 g/mol =0.06001

    Moles water = 1.442 g / 18.0154 g/mol =0.08004

    Moles H = 2 x 0.08004 =0.1601

    C ( 0.06001) H ( 0.1601)

we divide by the smallest number

    C H 2.66

to get whole numbers we multiply by 3

    C3H8 is the formula
