My neighbour is a felon and was wondering if he moves out of state, does his felony follow him to that state or does it just remain in that state it happened in?

  1. it goes where he goes...

  2. Felony convictions are reported to the FBI, and are part of your permanent criminal record. They follow you everywhere.

  3. The only thing that might change is that some states define "felony" differently. But it will be findable everywhere. If it meets the definition of "felony" in his new state, it will be considered a felony for such things as enhancement.
