Question:

Need Help Buying Bike?

I'm a 13 year old boy and I need a new hard tail bike (front suspension) I am looking at specialized and trek right now. I am willing to spend$650.00 max. I would be using this bike for mainly riding around paved and gravel paths but the odd time on a few mountain bike trails. I will not be doing anything crazy with this bike. I prefer just regular breaks instead of disc because I really don't need to spend extra for disc. With the money I save from this I could spend a little more on the bike. I need this bike to last 4 or 5 years. I'm just looking for a durable, nice frame, and good front suspension bike. Does anyone know a good hard tail bike without disk brakes?? Thanks

  1. Check the link, it is a rigth at your price point and if you become a member than you can get 65 back from REI. Has good front suspension and disc brakes. Disc brakes are easier to maintain, more durable and provide more stopping power.

    Just my 2 cents

  2. Look at GT, Giant, Fisher, and popular brands like that. If you aren't in a big hurry to buy, look to buy a good used bike on Craigslist. You might save a lot of money, plus since you are a youngun you might get a better deal. I've found a great deal off craigslist on a bike and a guitar. Adecent bike should last years if you take good care of it.
