  1. high elf, any god or goddess that has the sword that you wish to use. it doesnt have to be an elf god/dess. and it seems you want more of a warrior type of cleric, so pick feats that go with such.

  2. The others are correct in that the domain power of the War domain gives you the free martial weapon proficiency *with that deity's favored weapon*. Thus you have at least two requirements for your deity (three if you want it to be part of the elven pantheon as well):

    1) Must have War listed as one of its domains

    2) Must have an effectively 2-handable sword listed as (at least one of) their favored weapons - these would be greatsword, longsword and b*****d sword (note that if the latter, this does NOT also give you the exotic feat to use it one-handed without penalty...)

Without knowing the details of your campaign setting, can't suggest any possibilities.

As to feats, think of them as specialized training that allows you to do certain things an untrained person can only do poorly, if at all. As a cleric, you only get the standard 1 at first level and another every 3 levels thereafter that all PCs get (other than any bonus ones your two domains and any PrC might give, like the weapon proficiency from War.) If you plan to be a battle-oriented cleric, many of the fighter feats in the PHB might be appropriate (you might even consider multiclassing into fighter for a couple of levels for two extra feats at the expense of 2 caster levels.) Also, if you have the Complete Divine sourcebook, there are a lot of feats in there you might consider, especially those that allow you to convert turning attempts to other uses.

  3. Which version of D&D are you playing? 3.0, 3.5, or 4.0?

Probably you should use a high elf.

If you use the war domain so you can use the two-handed (great) sword, I'm pretty sure that means you have to pick a deity who's favored weapon is the great sword.  I don't believe there are any elven gods that prefer that weapon.

Feats are like super-powers.  If you meet the requirements you can pick one.  Clerics don't get a whole lot of them though.
