Question:

Need Help Finding Literary Device?

I need help finding the name of a literary device or a way to explain the act of using a phrase or sentence with a different intention then what people may assume. For instance, if you tell people you are pro at Basketball because you can score consistent baskets - but people interpret it as that you are literally a pro player in televised Basketball?

Anything similar that can define this act? Thank you.
