  1. if you have the luxury of a few days go to bed an hour early each day and set your alarm 1 hour closer to the time you would wake up for school (no naps!)

If you have no time to do this try taking a small dose (25 mg) of benadryl before bedtime. It's a pretty darn safe med and makes most people sleepy (it's what they add into tylenol PM and advil PM to help people sleep)

  2. hm it depends how early u wake up. u shud be getting round 7ish hours of sleep if ur doing that already then u shud be fine. It could be because u sleep afters school in the afternoon? If so then thats the reason why. You are sleeping in the afternoon the hours when u are suppose to be sleeping at night thus makin u lay in bed till 2

  3. There is an herbal sleep aid you could try, after you check first with your parents, of course.  It's called "Back 2:00 Sleep."  It tastes kind of nasty, but it has really helped me.

Make sure you are getting plenty of exercise, too, during the day, whatever activities you enjoy, basketball, running, soccer, biking, whatever.  Limit video games and sitting in front of a computer; surfing the web doesn't count as exercise, unfortunately!

It will probably take you a few weeks to get your internal clock used to going to bed earlier and getting up earlier, I'll bet your mom tried to get you to start doing that a few weeks ago, right?  Next time, listen to your mother!  And 11:30 is too late, anyway, a kid your age needs a lot of sleep, to keep growing properly and to keep alert at school.  Sorry, your mom was right about that one, too.  You need at least 8 hours of sleep, so count backwards from when you have to get up.  And then add extra hours if you are still tired a lot.  People can actually get insomnia when they are over-tired.  It doesn't make sense, when you're so exhausted that you can't sleep, but it happens.

  4. Relax every muscle in your body slowly from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet.  Just imagine relaxation oozing like goo throughout your body including your fingertips.

  5. Go to sleep earlier. 10:30Pm

  6. definitely be active during the day.  run, walk the dog, go bike riding, jump on a trampoline...anything to get your muscles working during the day so that you're tired at night.  also, i'm guessing you sleep in till like 12 pm so you should set an alarm for like 10 or 9:30 which will also really help!

  7. My friend has anxiety, and I have trouble sleeping. he let me rip a cd his psychologist gave him. it'll hypnotize you to relax. he's put that in his ipod, and listened 2 it and went right 2 sleep. gimme an email w/ your address and I'll send it to you. even though it's for people who suffer from anxiety, it's great for relaxing and will put you out very quickly after a while.

  8. Stuff that worked for me:

    1. Find a cute girl whos bedtime is early so you can fall asleep talking to her, and youre also encouraged to wake up early for school to see her.

    2. Work out a couple hours before. For example run a couple miles and youll knockout later.

    3. Drink warm milk.

    4. Watch a movie or vidoes online. I watched the entire Beast wars series on Veoh haah 3 episodes usually knock me out

  9. try master bastion gets me nice and tired.

  10. Try to wake up erlier like 2 hours before U usualy wake up.

Then maybe in the night U'll feel tired and sleepy.

  11. Just stay in the bed, try and sleep, just rest and unwind soon you will be able to fall asleep at 11:30 or so.

  12. Ask your folks to get you melatonin.  It is natural and produced naturally in the body.  Some people don't produce enough.  You can get it at pharmacies and places like a Dollar Store or Walmart, etc.   My grandson takes it and he is 12.  He takes it about a half hour before going to bed.  Also try to gradually pushing your bed time back from two and try to get some exercise if you can.  Or even reading helps me.  Lay off candy, caffeine and pops for awhile before you go to bed.

  13. mastabate

  14. I'm EXACTLY the same aha!

This is what I did and it really helped me get back on schedule (except for tonight.... ahah)

Pull an all nighter. Go to sleep whenever, but make sure that you have someone wake you up at like 10 am. At 3:00, take less than a two hour nap (you'll needa nap on the first day otherwise you won't make it aha). You'll be soo tired by night time that you will fall asleep early. MAKE SURE that you wake up early though, because you are in the habit and will definitely keep sleeping if you aren't forced to wake up!

Or just start waking up early. Your body will be punished by the lack of sleep, but you'll be veryyyy tired and start going to sleep earlier to compensate for the lack of sleeping.

I was on a good schedule by doing this up until yesterday, I forgot to wake up in the morning and now I'm back to not being able to sleep, so make sure that you wake up!

If this doesn't work for you, then down a cup or two of warm milk. I find it disgusting, but it helps you get cozy and tired [:

  15. There are sleeping pills that you can take and you can get them over the counter at Wal-Mart. I have taken them before but only on like when we are going on vacation and have to be on a plane for a long time. You could try taking some kind of sleep aid just to get your body in the habbit for going to sleep at an earlier hour.

I have always had trouble falling asleep at night. Here are some things I would try before resorting to the sleeping pills because you are so young.

Don’t watch TV or even so much as look at a computer screen atleast 30 minutes before you lie down. The light from both a television as well as a computer monitor mimic the same intensity of light as sunlight. This fools your body and brain into thinking it’s nowhere near time for sleep.

Drink milk. Milk has an amino acid in it called Tryptophan that increase the levels of serotonin and/or melatonin in the brain which slow down brain activity.

Reserve the bed for bed things

Take deep, long breaths. Tense each muscle one at a time from head to toe. Focusing on doing this takes your mind off of other things and you’ll be in lala land in no time.

Excercise during the day. I emphasize during the day. Excercising at night just gets everything going instead of shutting down for sleep. But excercising during the day tires the muscles out and makes for a solid nights sleep.

Caffeine. You might be surprised to know that caffeine can cause sleep problems up to ten to twelve hours after drinking it! If you rely on coffee, tea or caffeinated soda to keep you going during the day, consider eliminating caffeine after lunch or cutting back your overall intake.

  16. Take a medication that makes you drowsy ONE NIGHT.

It'll make you fall asleep fast, and wake up on a regular time, and walllahh, sleep schedule is back to normal.

PS. I DO NOT CONDONE ABUSING OVER THE COUNTER DRUGS.

  17. this acutally helps! if you can go in the lotuis position close youre eyes and just think after about 5 mins of that you feel tired and calm i really hhope this helps
