Need Help! I have a laminate walnut floor.?

It gets scratched very easily. If i pull out a chair, etc. Can i strip the floor and repaint it? Any suggestions?

  1. The suggestion to buy felt pads is a good one. I thought everybody did just that.

    To fix the scratches, you can use furniture restorer polish. It's usually sold in small tubes, in places such as B&Q, Homebase, and the like. Follow the instructions carefully.

    Don't even think about re-painting !


  2. Your laminate floor will curl up as it dries if you paint it. Buy some scratch remover and get felt pads under your furniture.

  3. the upside to laminate is its very hard wearing

    the downside is its not repairable

    like most finishes easy to apply and strip means not durable (wax) , difficult to apply and strip means it is durable ('varnish')

    the coating is very thin and the decorative effect beneath is a printed layer, its incredibly thin. if you sand it the print will be destroyed

  4. next time i suggest you purchase some felt pads and stick them on the chair legs,most DIY stores sell them.

    as for repainting i have no idea
