  1. I would need more information in order to calculate this.  How heavily are these papers weighted?  How many papers were assigned?  What were all of the requirements for the class?  Your best bet would be to ask your professor, because he/she would know what is meant by passing every paper as a requirement for the class (unless of course this is only a pass/fail type of grade; if so, then he/she will probably give you a fail, according to the requirement).

  2. The best advice, Chris, is to ask the teacher if you can rework your last paper and then redo it so it will pass.  Don't take the easy way out and do just enough to get get the passing grade.  If the teacher lets you hand in something else, do something that impresses them by going above and beyond the minimum.  You are intelligent enough to have an A average, so do a really good job on the rewrite and your teacher should be happy to give you a better grade.  The biggest problem in this country, as I see it, is our willingness to do just enough to get by.  If you care enough to ask this question, then I challenge you to go one or two steps beyond the minimum! Good luck my friend!
