Need Help Working out for Muay Thai?

This is kind of 2 questions. Do you guys know any good neck exercises to make your neck stronger? Because my coach told me a stronger neck makes it harder to get knocked out.

Also What kind of work out for my legs should I do , to have stronger kicks? This guy on my team kicks like a mule , but he has Very skinny legs like me. Would heavy leg presses help? -thanks

  1. kick through the opponent you probably just have the wrong mindset your not kicking his jaw your kicking opposite ear, the jaw is just in the way... trust me it works


  2. no sure about necks but biking really helps you legs

  3. Here are some body weight exercises:

    For your neck: lie on your back and simply lift your head, turn your head side to side, then back down, 200 reps or so, until you feel the burn.

    Alternatively, for a better workout, lie on your back with a towel under your head, legs bend, lift your butt off the floor and arch your back, supporting yourself on the crown of your head. Do as many rep and sets as necessary to feel the burn...

    For legs:

    - kicking the heavy bag obviously helps

    - hindu squats

    - one legged squats

    - squat thrusts

    - burpees

    - knees to chest

    - star jumps

    if you have access to a rowing machine: brilliant general workout.
