  1. OK, well.

Did you cycle the tank? Cycling means letting the tank sit for about 1-2 weeks (with a filter) so it can build up beneficial bacteria which breaks down waste, and un-eaten food.

Do you have a filter? If you don't I'd suggest buying one of these:

I got one a few weeks ago for my 49 gallon cichlid tank. They're really good filters.

Do you do weekly or every-other-day water changes? For a 10 gallon and a black moor change 2 gallons every other day.

Did you dechlorinate all the water? Buy a water conditioner at a PetShop or Wal-Mart for that.

Did you ever clean the tank with soap? Thats a no-no.

Is the tank heated? Does it have a light? If the light is getting the water too hot it could kill the black moor.

  2. 1 black moor needs 20 gallons

you need to cycle the aquarium

corys need to school in groups of 3+ and need a tropical aquarium

you need to do regualar water changes

    flakes are better than pellets

  3. One goldfish requires a 20 gallon tank with excellent filtration.  That tank needs to be cycled before the fish is added.  http://www.aquatic-hobbyist.com/profiles...

You need to do 25 per cent water changes weekly adding dechlorinated water back into the tank and rinsing your filter media in the old tank water.

The light only needs to be on if you have live plants which aren't great in a goldfish tank because they eat them.  Too much light will cause algae growth.  Only turn the light on if you want to watch the fish.

  4. What kind of filtration do you have? Are there other fish in the tank? Do you treat the water before adding it? How often do you change the water? Do you do a full or partial change? What's your ph, nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia levels? Has the tank cycled before you put the fish in? Those are just the things we need to know to give you recommendations on care. As for how they die, what were the symptoms? What were your ammonia levels? Answering your question is impossible without more information.

Added: Thank you for the information! First of all, you absolutely need a filter running all the time. I recommend Whisper filters, they're very powerful and nearly silent. You need to get an ammonia test kit - goldfish especially give off a lot of waste, and the test kit will help you monitor that. You need to do partial water changes frequently, I believe someone here recommended every other day and that sounds about right. Goldfish need at LEAST ten gallons per fish, but you may be able to keep them by changing the water frequently. You definitely don't want to add anything else to the tank. It sounds like your fish were dying from the waste buildup. Even if the water looks clear, it can still be "dirty" enough to kill a fish! That's why the test kits are so important.
