Various types of religious writing were popular in the colonial period. List and define three of these types of religious writings.

The question is asking you to list three types of religious writing that people liked to do in the colonial period, then you are asked to explain what each type you listed is about.  For example, sermons would be one type of religious writing, so what is a sermon?  Religious poetry would be another, what is a poem?  etc.

(You should know that the above is just an example, poetry was not a major product of the colonial period, thought there was some.  Sermons, however, abounded!)
