To construct a Sierpinski triangle, start with an equilateral triangle. At each step, join the midpoints of each triangle and remove the created triangle in the middle. This has the effect of reducing the area to 3/4 of its previous value. The actual Sierpinski triangle is what you get after infinitely many steps. If the original triangle was one inch on a side, what is the area and perimeter of this monster.
