I have linksys wireless router. A PC (Dell) and A Laptop (Dell D610) and i would like to make a LAN between the two of them. On the PC i have only one ethernet (which is already busy with the ethernet cable coming from the router) and on the Laptop I have only one wirless Network Card which recieves the transmission from the router and allows me to access internet. How to make a wirless LAN using the things i mentioned above? Do i need else things? What? Best recommendations?

  1. If both a wired and wireless computer connect to the same router.. all you have to do is enable the Local Network.. they are already connected to the router!

Here is microsofts easy to setup local network information.

    http://microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/net...

And in all truth.. all wireless does is replace the need for a cable they are BOTH networked into the router!  So at this time your PC and your laptop ARE ON the same network and can easily communicate!

  2. get a wireless card for your pc

  3. Hi, as far as I understand you don't want to connect your desktop via wireless and you mean to have network between these two. First in your desktop go to my network places/set up a home or small office network and follow the steps till it get done. Then right click on every thing that you want to share and share the folder. Do the same thing in your laptop too. Then check your desktop and laptop name( right click on my computer/properties/computer name) and then search the name in search area ( search or computers ) It will find your computer and then you will be able to hook them up.
