Need Help with Wireless Connection / X Box Live please?

Purchasing a new computer and the old one is going into another room with wireless connection. Can my son use his X-Box live through this wireless router or do I need to purchase anything else.

  1. You need to buy a wireless adaptor for the back of the xbox so he can play it wirelessly. You should be able to buy one from game or any other video game shop.


  2. Yes he can use the router, but remember routers are only designed to run one thing at a time

He can use his xbox through the wireless router, but you need to buy the xbox adapter for $100.  For video game consoles, I suggest staying away from wireless.  Wireless can product lag and signal drop out due to interference from other wireless devices close by.  The interference could even be from your neighbors.  My suggestion is take a look at these links:

    In other words, you can use powerline to connect your xbox to the router using the electrical wires in your house rather than going wireless.  It works great.
