I need my Yahoo Answer's friends to get their creative juices flowing with this question!!!

I current work as a financial advisor for (a major financial company) and are looking for ways a to differenciate myself from the rest of the pack. I'm putting together a new marketing campaign and could really use everyone's possible idea's for creative places to hold a seminar at---

--The People attending would be between the ages of 40-60 years old and live in the south bay area.

-I'm looking to keep the cost of possibly having to rent $500 and below.

Ideally I would like to rent out a place for free like this idea I came up with----------

Type of idea: I got a upscale art gallery to let me rent out 2 hours of space for a seminar I'm putting on because I'm join marketing with them by putting their galleries name on the 1500 flier I send out and bringing in 30-40 high net worth prospective clients to their gallery.

I would greatly appreciate any help and thank you in advance!!!

  2. Actually I have to agree that you did actually answer your own question. But if you just want further details of the direction you could go. Here goes.

By joint marketing and especially to a targeted age group with finances, you open more doors that you may think.

With each place you may be considering, as first if they have unbooked time that they would like to fill? Once you have the dates, offer them the opportunity to have their location included in your information and promotion material at no cost to them (you were going to do this anyway and what's maybe two or three extra lines of print?).

Next depending on the format of your presentation, schedule some form of intermission or break and during this time in a non formal kind of way have some come in an just ask thoses standing and sitting around how they like the place and could any of them see possibilities of using the site for themselves? This could actually be a promotion for them and also a lead generator for them.

Lastly, I'm not sure if you even thought about this part, and I know it works because I do it. In your negotiating with the location, let them know the targeted roup that you would be focusing and just ask, "Would this be the type of group you would like to have renting out you location?". Once they agree and say yes, continue and ask if you could during the second half of the presentation (after the person has already informally gave a presentation about the benefits of the location), mention the fact that after checking the location's calendar, you were told that they are currently looking for upcoming dates to be filled and give a number for them to call. Now, have it set up that you recieve a 10 - 20% commission for any appointments/rentals as a result of your presentation.

You already will know what different locations cost, so if you recieved an extra commission for the 10% of all future sales. This could be a side source of income for you.

    Good luck
