Need Ideas for redecorating bedroom???

Question

My hubby is gone to NTC training for the month and i want to surprise him by redecorating the bedroom to make it more romantic. I have found a bedding set i like with curtains. Our colors scheme is going to be orangish/gold and black. I have already picked out some art work also. But i dont know what else to do to make the room more s**y/romantic. I cannot paint the walls as we live on a military base and its not allowed, so the walls are white and we can have candles, but cannot have them light in the housing. Any one have any ideas for other things for or to do to the room to make it better? Thanks for any and all help!

whell for a more romantic room you want som nice darks like scarlet res and shinny black peral and white candels you want the art work to be more sweet and s**y and deffelent not childish orange is a nutral kina brite but not to much of it can be to brite

try looking at ikea.com or other decorating websites for ideas. The prices at ikea are good if your looking to save money.

try the battery operated candles by Glade? (i think) google it and see what you get. Get a coupon off the computer to buy. My mother in law lives with us and she uses these much to our RELIEF (she is 79) plus the candles also give off a scent every so many seconds/minutes. you can use rechargable batteries.

maybe change the lightbulb to a softly colored one, fake flowers - this sounds tacky but the art and craft stores sell really nice ones. You can get an inexpensive vase and fill it with special clear filler than solidfies but looks like water and it will hold your flowers in place.

The best thing is loads of accessories, cushions and throws and you could make or buy a simple drape to hang from the ceiling over the bed. Go into Ikea or Pier and just browse around to find things you think would go.

Lighting is important but not overhead.  The types of fabrics you choose for your bedding and draperies should be soft and plush looking.  Lots of pillows is very good. Coordinate either one large rug or a couple of smaller ones for under or around the bed.  How about a nice fabric bench for the foot of the bed.  Pick up some different sized clear vases, fill with glass stones in soft colors.  You can also float flowers in them on occasions.

Candles are good...but since you can't light them...buy flameless candles.  They are battery operated and look lit and even flicker...but there is no flame and they are totally safe.  Coordinating pillows can add a romantic touch
