Need Ideas to improve lives of people in a community?

Our church has been involved in may projects in our community.

-madeover the home of a terminally ill man whos wife died, he passed a month after the makeover, fixed and stocked a food shelter . Tthis weekend we did 3 projects a park, salvation army acting as a rec center and the home of a woman with special needs children

I am sure that these people feel so blessed and the neigbors appreciate it, but I wish there was a way to help the WHOLE neighborhood.

When we're out of there it's sad to walk away with the other houses untouched.

What are some inexpensive was to help entire neighborhoods. We have the volunteers (about 200) who are more than willing to work.

Do you think it will be modivating to that neighborhood to do more and help eachother?

You can post a Community Board online and around your neighborhood with a list of things people can do to help (whether it's monetary or physical). Also add a section where people can post things they need assistance with such as helping elderly citizens with household chores, daily errands, etc.

Make it accessible to everyone in your neighborhood so people outside of your church and other religions that are willing to help are aware of who they can help in your area.
