Question:

Need Last Minute Vacation to Fight Mom's Increasing Depression?

My mom is incredibly depressed right now. She is often alone because my dad is a pilot and gone six days out of the week, I am attending a college that is an hour and a half away from home, and my brother is constantly gone. I try to be home as much as I can, but she is really sad and in need of a vacation. however, unless I can find a beach destination with a reasonable price for lodgings for seven people, she will refuse to go. She NEEDS this vacation incredibly badly and wants to go, but she is dead set on making herself suffer. Where could my family and I take her that would be on the beach, warm, and between 1500 and 2, 000 dollars for lodgings? We fly for free due to my dad's profession, so plane tickets are not an issue, although if we travel by car (which we probably would), gas might be a problem.

  1. First of all- if your mom is depressed a vacation isn't ging to be any type of long term fix for this- you get that right?

For a much needed holiday, however, a few more bits of info would help. What state/country do you live in? How far are you wanting to go? Does everyone have a passport? When is this trip to be taken? And the ages of the people traveling?
