Ok, I am new to drums, and I am going to buy a set. I hear that the one of the best brand is Ludwig so I'm looking for a Ludwig drum set, I see some on eBay for good prices. But here is the problem. I see some with tall drums (like from bottom to top is long) and then short drums. I don't know what the diffrence is, but I am hoping you can tell me what is better for me to get.

Here are the two that I'm looking at:

Short : http://cgi.ebay.com/Ludwig-Accent-Custom-Drum-Set-Wine-Red-Must-See_W0QQitemZ190228520916QQihZ009QQcategoryZ38097QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

Please Help, I need to know the diffrence of the two types of drums, and which I should get!

Thanks For The Help!!

  1. the depth of the drums only affects the sound and your ability to position them.  the deeper drums will have bigger, longer sustained sounds while the short drums will probably be higher pitched and have a short sustain.  my suggestion is the short ones.  it makes it easier to position in order to have a comfortable set-up.  my 1st drums were big deep ones and my drum teacher taught me that drums with smaller depth can be positioned better.  hope this helps!
