On college induction day i was given a question for homework and I can't figure out how to do it :(

The question is:

V(squared) = U(squared)-2ac

Make "a" the subject.

Can anyone help and show me how to do it ?

  1. V² = U² - 2ac;

    Subtract U² from both sides:

    V² - U² = -2ac

    Divide both sides by -1:

    U² - V² = 2ac

    Divide both sides by 2c:

    (U² - V²)/2c = a
