Need Picture Package software for Sony Handycam DCR-TRV260?

Every site I have gone to has forums where people ask for free software downloads of picture package and when they get answers the sites you go to only have updates, they don't have the original version. Their main excuses were that they lost their original disk and ended up either re formating their hard drive or accidently deleting it. Well I'm not going to make excuses. I bought my 2007 Sony Handycam at a pawn shop for $150 and of course it didn't have the software. I don't want to have to spend alot of money just to get the software. I already have editing software and other things for it but I just need software so I can transfer the video. Can anyone send me to a site or something that has the original Picture Package version 1.0. I would realy apriciate it.

By the way the Sony website only has updates too so there is no use in telling me to go there.

  1. You do not need the Picture Package software from Sony to get the video from this Digital8 camcorder.

You need a working Firewire 400 port on your computer - and a firewire cable that connects the DV port on the camera to the firewire port on the computer.

Here is the manual for the camera:

Refer to page 62... but instead of connecting the camcorder to a deck, you will connect to your computer.

Firewire, i.Link and IEEE1394a are all the same thing.

You will also need a cable:
