This is how my team, so far, looks this year. Right now Matt Holliday is on the DL, and it appears he was put back in the lineup now.

So.. I have a decision to make, if I were to put Matt Holliday back on my fantasy active roster. I will be over the roster limit so someone would have to go.

Who?

Geovany Soto - C

Lance Berkman - 1B

Dan Uggla - 2B

Jorge Cantu - 3B/1B

Miguel Tejada - SS

Matt Holliday - OF

Carl Crawford - OF

Vladimir Guerrero - OF

Xavier Nady - OF

Torii Hunter - OF

Carlos Quentin - OF

Mark Reynolds - 3B

Jose Lopez - 2B

Jose Reyes - SS

Conor Jackson - 1B

Brandon Webb - SP

John Lackey - SP

Cliff Lee - SP

Randy Johnson - SP

Ervin Santana - SP

Gavin Floyd - SP/RP

Francisco Rodriguez - RP

Jose Valverde - RP

  1. Ugh, everyone here doesnt know anything.

Nady never does well after May, he always puts up the numbers he did this year in April, then falls off the face of the earth when June rolls around.

I would drop Nady without thinking to get Holliday back in the OF

Edit- Hope you listened to me, Nady is gonna be out at least a few weeks.

  2. I would say Jackson or Reynolds...with Chad Tracy in the picture, you're never sure who's gonna be playing each game...

  3. Conor Jackson.  When is he ever going to play ahead of Lance Berkman (baring injury, of course)?

  4. I would drop Reynolds. He started off the season with a hot start, but now, he's cooled down considerably.

  5. Man you had one h**l of a draft, was everyone else asleep at the draft. How do you get Holliday, Crawford, Reyes, Webb, Guerrero, and Berkman? I would say Nady because you are so loaded it shouldn't matter a whole lot.

  6. To determine who you should drop, you need to look at which positions you are 100% solid at.  By that I mean where do you have good, consistent production and low injury risk.  Since you really can't justify releasing any of your OF or SP, Jose Lopez or Conor Jackson are your choices.

To begin with, you have so many good OF that it makes the fact that Berkman has OF eligibility moot.  You won't be playing him there at all since you have the elite OF that you do.

Secondly, Uggla is a monster this year at a premium position.  I know that his past says that he won't sustain the pace (as far as batting average is concerned) but he has always been a reliable source of HR and RBI's since he has come into the league.  Since most teams won't be getting a large amount of those stats from that position, you're already ahead.

Add those two points and the fact that Berkman and Uggla are ironmen who don't seem to get injured year in and year out, you should be able to drop Lopez or Jackson with confidence.

P.S.  Even though you didn't ask for any other advice, I think that you should try to trade a pitcher or two for an elite 3b and another closer.  Then your hitting lineup would be stellar and you would be able to lock down saves for the rest of the year.

  7. Don't drop Cliff Lee I dont know what that guys talking about.  Even if you don't think he can keep up the pace you have to try and trade him.  He has value in the trade market for sure.

Drop Floyd.  He has a career ERA over 5 and he doesn't strike out alot of guys.  Yeah he's good this season but nothing suggests based on his track record that he can keep this up.

  8. Without a doubt jose lopez. If you look at the stats for the rest of your positional players a lot of them contribute to the five categories. Lopez doesn't do much on the five. He's good for average and runs at best. The mariners such this year. They are struggling to score let alone win games. You have plenty of power, good speed, guys in the long run will hit for average, and to boost you have guys that are rbi machines in teams that score plenty of runs.

  9. Drop Cliff Lee. You have enough padding in SP anyways, and I'm not convinced Cliff Lee will keep up the pace.
