Question:

Need a Chap stick alternative (home remedy)

I left my Chap stick at my friends.

I can't get it back until next week.

My lips are chapped and sore and need some attention =[

I have been drinking plenty of water but it still doesn't seem to help.

Are there any home remedies that I can use?

Thanks In advance =]

Disclaimer: I can't drive or get public transport to get a chapstick from the shops nor do i have the spare cash laying around to buy one.

My friend is away so I can't go to their house until next week.

  1. vasalene. you prob have some laying in your medecine cabinate.

  2. Vaseline is good. Stay out of the wind. Borrow something from a friend.

  3. do you have any vasaline? that works well. If u have it, wet your lips slightly then apply a good coat. Also, do you buy nivea cream? I do, and it comes in small tins. I use that as chapstick, along with other lotions. READ LABELS CAREFULLY! make sure they are face safe! Lastly, concentrated shea butter works well. If you want to try some other "Riskier" approaches, butter and aloe vera straight from the plant might work too.

Hope you et better, and keep drinking the water! :d♥

  4. vaseline

  5. Vaseline

works great and it is only $1

  6. Vaseline should do the job =]

  7. vaseline lotion :D

  8. I use Neosporin if my lips are really chapped... overnight. Don't l**k your lips with it on though, it tastes terrible, and is probably bad to ingest.

    otherwise, vaseline.

  9. Apply unsalted butter or ghee

  10. vaseline petroleum jelly always works.

  11. vaseline or baby oil

    it helps a lot

  12. I often use lotion instead. You can also use olive oil or butter, preferably unsalted. Eating a fatty meal also helps because the oils get absorbed in your lips.

  13. Use lotion, thats what I use at times, just dont eat it, love. Hey its better than nothing.

  14. go to a neighbors house ?

  15. plain old vasoline (PETROLIUM JELLY) works just fine

  16. olive oil is better but if you don't have any use cooking oil...lightly coat your lips and blot the rest off with a handkerchief.

  17. candle wax?

  18. scrub really gently with a toothbrush then coat with a bit of moisturiser and honey mixture

  19. If you have some vitamin E oil, either in a bottle to be applied to skin or in capsules to be taken by mouth, you could try that. Just poke the capsules with a pin; one should last you quite a while. If you don't have any, plain old olive oil will help. Just rub some in with your finger. Vaseline will at least protect your sore lips from the elements.

  20. you can use vaseline if you have it. That actually works great. The best thing is to put it on at night before you go to bed. You could alos use the clear gel of neosporin!

  21. Bacon grease

  22. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article... hope this helps

  23. Do you have access to a glue stick?

  24. Vasaline works a charm..

    good luck
