Question:

Need a GPS very simple?

A mate of mine is looking for a GPS, it has to be very simple to use and easy to understand. One push operation is the best as he is about as computer literate as a donkey but wants to use it on his boat so he can find his way back.

I need a make and model number.

  1. Don`t buy a car one,as the cases are not as water resistant as a proper marine one and the cartography is not compatible. (a bit like navigating with a road map) Navman do some very good value G.P.S.s and trackplotters.

  2. Magellan Maestro 4040 is very easy to use and I'm find it to be pretty accurate with it's maps.  The maps can also be updated.

  3. My sister has a TomTom One v1 and she says it's quite good.

  4. hi, a couple of sites to have a look at..

  5. check out somewhere like Argos

  6. It's called a compass.

  7. you will find that Gps from a car will not work afloat, because of the maps on the card

  8. I'm cheap...I use a hand held I bought at walmart, but for a good marine GPS visit          IBOATS.COM

Marine store has everything for any boat

  9. Garmin Nuvi...  My friend has this product and it's great!!!

  10. try a Tom Tom 510 it is very easy.

  11. Try this, Garmin eTrex Venture Cx.  It's WAAS compatible, waterproof, easy to use and has mapping capability.  Not too many buttons.

  12. Better still learn to control the boat and use charts and look out of the windows.
