My daughter needs a job for the Summer. We are in a drought and would prefer you didn't request a car-wash. We also do not live on a neighborhood, but on a farm, but we are about 5 miles from a neighborhood so that could work. We have 2 dogs 4 donkeys and a cat if you were going to wonder about the pets, and my daughter is a smart girl excellent with computers, dogs and children. Please help! She needs the money by Christmas (630 dollars) and I sure the c**p ain't lendin' that kind of money to her!

  1. Wow, being allergic to grass and living on a farm must really suck.

Hate to have to burst your bubble.  But kids don't necessarily need to have everything that they want.  At 10 there isn't much she can do for money.  (legally)  You don't want to buy it for her, and that's understandable, but she may need to set her goals a little lower for a while.

I am glad she is willing to work.  Being on a farm I would think that you could put her to work, or give her a small plot of ground to grow stuff for the farmers market.  But at 10 she's really too young to be mowing lawns or babysitting kids anyway.

  2. Shes 10 Let her be a child... what in the world would a 10 year old need 630 dollars for and if she really does need it your  her parent and she is only 10... at least wait another 5 or 6 years before makeing her get a job

  3. What about babysitting for some kids

  4. Dog walking or babysitting would be good

  5. she's 10 so NO babysitting. The best age to start that is at  about 12. when i was 11 i babysat for the first time and i've never forgaven myself about the horrbile mistakes i made. besides she should take a a babysitting course and you have to be 11 and older to. SO don't listen to the people who say she should babysit. Thats nothing but old c**p. SHe's just a kid herself.

  6. allergic TO GRASS?

  7. How about feeding & walking pets, and maybe watering plants

  8. You can thumbs down me all you want, but being in 4 years of child development and psychology I can sure tell you... it's wrong for a 10 year old girl out working. I understand financial problems families are going through these days, but, is it that important for her to earn that much money in 5 months? she's only 10... too young to babysit, too young to really do anything. Have you heard of child labor?...

She can help in doing small chores, but that will not get her to reach her goal by Christmas. School is starting up or some places has already started up, school work is much more important.

Like i said, you can thumbs down me, if I see a thumbs down, I will know if you are a real parent. if you were a concerned parent, you would know where I am coming from.

You don't have to scream at everyone. You are the mom, be the mom and tell her she is only 10 and to young to earn that kind of money in that short of time. It will take her longer but she will feel much more better that she has earned it all by herself. This will be a good lesson for her in saving money, working for what you want and being patient in how long it will take to save up.

  9. Well, babysitting dogs or children would be good if you need other people to pay her, cleaning, doing things around the house, are things you could pay her for. Mowing lawns is for both you and other people paying her. But another thing is graphic designing, printing out the picture, and selling them somewhere. GL =)

  10. She could babysit animals, house sit,and she can babysit. Also here are some other suggetions.

  11. The only types of jobs I could think of that a 10 year old could possibly do is :

    1) Babysitting

    2) dog walking/taking care of animals etc

    3) Paper route ( don't prefer)

    4) Mowing lawns ( hard to do)

    5) Help clean houses

    6) selling drinks ( but she won't get much)

Sorry, that was all I can think of............

EDIT: Being 10 year old has it's restrictions and I would be cautious because there are too many people out there who can hurt children  ( step mother of 3 kids)

  12. Yeah make her work for it.  That's what may parents had me do when I wanted a cool new Bike.  It will teach her how to save money that's a great lesson.

    She could walk dogs

watch peoples pets when they are on vacations

    Baby sit kids 6+ years

Do yard work pick weeds trim trees

She could always try and sell lemonade.

If you have a good donkey and are willing to help her you could take the donkey to kids birthday parties and let them sit on him. I love donkeys and would love to have one come to my kids birthday party.  Maybe train him to pull a cart.  Who knows that could lead to a mother daughter business.  $100 and hr and $50 for additional and you do 10 parties all summer that's about $1,000.   You could even bring 2 donkeys for $200.  If I was a stay at home mom that had donkeys I would be doing that with my daughter.

  13. GET HER THE LAB TOP

  14. i do understand the situation but she is too young to do the job...

  15. i wanna work ASAP i tried babysitting but no one ever called me and i cant mow lawns cuz i live in an apartment. i dont know what to do...

  16. First of all, you seem to be pushing her. You said you are in a drought-so your only guess is to pimp out your daughter?

Well, she is only 10 what could she do?

  17. how about doing RECYCLE???

  18. babysitting

    walking dogs

she can take minor typing jobs
